Mobile Speech Therapy at Home and School in Perth

Sessions at home, at school or at daycare and kindy, with no travel fees and no waitlist.

A speech pathologist who comes to you

Getting a child to regular appointments isn't always easy. Between school runs, work and other activities, a weekly trip across town to a clinic can be one thing too many.

City Beach Speech is a fully mobile practice. I come to your home, your child's school, or their daycare or kindy, so therapy fits around family life rather than the other way round.

Speech therapy at home

Home is where many children feel most relaxed, and that often makes it easier for them to settle in and join in. It also means you can see what happens in a session and pick up strategies to use during everyday routines like mealtimes, playtime and story time.

A parent or carer needs to be home during each session. I bring everything we need, so all you need is a quiet space with as few distractions as possible. Each child gets their own speech therapy book, which is the only thing they need for sessions. I glue their home practice tasks into it, so everything stays in one place.

Before your first session, I'll email you a service agreement explaining how home visits work, and bring a copy along for you to sign.

Speech therapy at school, daycare or kindy

For some families, school visits are simply easier. Your child doesn't miss out on after-school activities, and you don't need to leave work early to get them to an appointment.

I usually contact the school myself to arrange a room or space for sessions, and you're copied in on every email. If I speak with your child's teacher about their progress, you're always included. Daycare and kindy visits work the same way, and I send you a text reminder before each session.

No travel fees

There's no extra charge for coming to you. A session at home, school or daycare costs the same as a standard session, anywhere within my service area.

When are sessions available?

  • Monday to Friday: sessions at home, at school or at daycare and kindy

  • Saturday: home sessions only

There's no waitlist at the moment, so you can usually book an initial assessment without a long wait.

Questions about home and school visits

What if my suburb isn't on the list?

Give me a call. The list covers where I visit most often, but if you're close to the edge of my area, there may still be a way to fit you in. It's always worth asking, and a quick phone call is the easiest way to find out whether I can come to you.

Does a parent need to be home during sessions?

Yes. For home visits, a parent or carer needs to be home for the whole session. It's also a great chance to see what we work on, so you can practise between visits. All the details are in the service agreement I send before your first session.

What do I need to have ready for a home visit?

A quiet space where your child can focus, ideally away from the TV and other distractions. A small table helps for some activities, but plenty of sessions happen on the floor too. I bring all the resources. The only thing your child needs is their speech therapy book, which I provide.

Does my child need an assessment first?

Yes. Your first appointment is always an assessment, so I can understand your child's speech and language skills and set goals with you. For toddlers, I sometimes spread the assessment over two sessions to get a clearer picture. Therapy starts once the assessment is complete.
